教学目标

Students can grasp the general idea of the whole passage by skimming.

Students learn the writing style of the passage.

Students learn to improve reading strategies like skimming, guessing between lines and so on.

Students can use the context to guess the meaning of words.

教学难点

Students can use the proper words and phrases to talk about invented in real life.

 

教学过程

Step 1: Warming up & Leading in

After greeting, the teacher will show the students some pictures on the PowerPoint. And asking some questions related to the picture.

Such as:(1) What can you see in the picture?

Do you want to have it? Why or why not?

Step 2: Pre-reading

Showing students a mobile phone. Then let students guess what is about in the passage?

Step 3: While-writing

Skimming the passage to confirm the last step’s guessing.

Scanning the passage to find out what the main idea of each part is. And finish the following matching exercise on the book.

Intensive reading: complete the sentences using words and phrases from the passage. (On page 44).

Step 4: Post-reading

Group work: five students in a group, talk about the disadvantages of mobile phone, then present the group opinion on the stage. They have to use today’s sentence pattern in the presentation.

Step 5: Summary & homework

Students summarize that they have learned and the teacher makes supplementary. Writing a paper what kind of things do you want to invent? Why? and share it in the next class.

1、Warming up & leading in
